Installation of 15,000 led lights for NHS Hospitals
Highlights:
- Installation of 15,000 LED lights across 2 hospitals: Aintree University Hospital NHS
- Foundation Trust and South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust
- The project is worth £1.6 million.
- At Aintree Hospital, we installed 5,000 lights across 6 buildings, helping to reduce over 900,000 kWh and £125,000 per year
- At Sunderland Hospital, we installed 10,000 lights across 11 buildings, helping to reduce over 3 million kWh and over £500,000 per year
Project:
The Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust hospitals in the UK were facing high energy costs and generating unwanted carbon emissions. To address this problem, it was decided to install LED lights in the buildings of both hospitals. A project was carried out to install a total of 15,000 LED lights in 17 buildings of the Aintree and Sunderland hospitals. £1.6 million was invested in the project. In the Aintree hospital, 5,000 LED lights were installed in 6 buildings, while in the Sunderland hospital, 10,000 LED lights were installed in 11 buildings. The installation of LED lights in the Aintree and Sunderland hospitals had a significant impact on reducing costs and carbon emissions. In the Aintree hospital, more than 900,000 kWh and £125,000 in energy costs per year were reduced. Meanwhile, in the Sunderland hospital, more than 3 million kWh and over £500,000 per year in energy costs were reduced. In addition, the installation of LED lights also improved the quality of lighting in the buildings of both hospitals. The installation of LED lights in the Aintree and Sunderland hospitals was a success, as it significantly reduced energy costs and carbon emissions, while improving the quality of lighting in the buildings. This project can serve as an example for other institutions looking to reduce their energy costs and improve their sustainability.
